Birthdays are a time to uplift those celebrating and remind them how special they are. Amanda Fierro and Jennifer Malec, two elder care social workers in Riverdale, connected over their love of baking. This pair soon discovered For Goodness Cakes and agreed that this is a wonderful non-profit to volunteer for. “Every child deserves to be celebrated,” Malec said. However, there was no New Jersey chapter at that time. After exploring the start-up process and what will be required of them, Fierro and Malec knew exactly what they had to do. Caldwell Life July 2021
Caldwell’s Marissa Rozenfeld lost her father on October 16th, 2020 due to Covid-19 complications. Three weeks later, her grandfather passed away from Covid-19 complications. In January 2021, Rozenfeld embarked on her creative healing journey through her new Etsy shop. ItsGonnaGetBetter, a fashion collection featuring her father’s digitized handwriting, started with a new embroidery machine, a pile of blank sweatshirts, and the desire to channel her healing through art. As a fabric choice, cotton is stiff and not as forgiving as wool, so many knitters stay away from it. In response to increased desire for natural plant-based yarn, independent yarn dyers created beautiful hand-dyed yarn.
